There is no other destination in India for backpackers which sparkle flair in our body as well as our soul than Ladakh. Isn’t that true? Unlike any other places in India, Ladakh has been gifted with many spectacular things no matter it has some scarcities. But guess what? Scarcity makes us learn the value of things which we have at our hand with ease. Isn’t that right? Of course, it is.

So, we were talking about the things Ladakh has been gifted with. Before we move any further, let’s write down some best things to do in Ladakh:

Pangong Lake

One of the most famous places to visit in Ladakh, Pangong Tso Lake is the perfect eye candy of the cold desert of India. It’s like in the middle of nowhere a small, photogenic, beautiful and tempting paradise resides in the form of a lake and that too salty water one.

Pitching your tent on the banks of Pangong River and watch cobalt blue skies and hear the gurgling sounds of waters is the experience you will cherish for a lifetime. We advise you to skip the homestays in the nearby areas of Pangong and do something out of the box.

Distance - Be prepared to complete the entire distance of around 222 km from Leh to reach Pangong Lake.

2. Nubra Valley

The second one on our list is none other than Nubra Valley. Around 160 km from the capital city Leh, Nubra Valley is home to one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, Hunder Gompa. During your journey to Nubra Valley from Pangong which is around 275 km, get prepared to watch how amazingly landscape starts changing. You won’t resist yourself to get lost in the impeccable beauty as you’ll be surrounded with high mountains on one side and a river fast flowing on the alternate side.

Tip - Ride on the camel’s hump in the most fertile regions of Ladakh - Nubra Valley. The journey you will cover to reach Nubra Valley from Leh via Khardung La Pass is around 142 km, and the whole journey warns you to be awake, and watch the gorgeous beauty of Ladakh from your car window.

3. Magnetic Hill

What if we tell you that there is a place to visit in Ladakh located around 30 km from Leh town where gravitational force said to stop working, would you be able to believe that? But you have to believe this. We cannot miss out on the magical Magnetic Hills where the land defies gravity. You can see videos over the internet of a stationary vehicle starting to move by itself in the upward direction. Sounds unreal? We told you Ladakh is gifted with many things and Magnetic Hills is one of them.

If you are eager to watch the incident live after knowing this, do check out our Ladakh tour package in which Magnetic Hill is inclusive.

4. Shanti Stupa

Life feels sorted when you get to enjoy amazing sunset at a destination like Ladakh. Other significant things to do in Ladakh are watching the sunset at Shanti Stupa, feel the patriotism at Hall of Fame, watching the confluence of Zanskar and Indus River, do Chadar Trek and much more.

Now let’s talk about something which not many know about. There are some unexpectedly awesome things to do in Ladakh holidays that are not on google. Have a look!

●       First thing on our list is, spotting the big white cat of Ladakh, Snow Leopard. Hemis National Park is home to more than 200 snow leopards and to watch these amazing creatures; one has to do trekking in Ladakh. We believe that’s a WIN WIN situation. What do you say about it?

●       Do satiate your taste buds with Yak Cheese. Yes, you read that right. Ladakh is the perfect place where you can see the livelihood of Ladakhis is majorly dependent on Yak for milk, butter, and even meat. We would also recommend you to try the Yak Cheese Momos with a spicy chutney. You would love it as it deserves to be one of the best things to do in Ladakh.

●       We all have read what to do and where to go in Ladakh, but there are very few things people tell which would embrace your Ladakh holidays as well as you. The third one on our list is talking and bonding with the monks. They will give you the best teachings of life and spiritual experience which you will remember for your lifetime.
