There are several different types of Dog races with medals  and prizes. There are also Moosalamoo races, the Chariots of Fur, and Fluffy, the Fast and the Furry. While the official number of years that a race has been dog-friendly is not always stated, it is based on how long people have been bringing their pets along. All of these events are fun and unique, so finding the right one for you and your dog is simple.

Moosalamoo
Moosalamoo dog races are fun and rewarding events for dogs and their owners. Although the 36-mile race is reserved for human competitors, there is a 14-mile "heavy half" course for dogs. This course is comprised of mostly technical singletrack, with 3,000 feet of gain. It also includes some dirt tracks and logging roads. Dogs who finish the course will receive a medal and a toy.

Moosalamoo races
Runners from all over the world travel to Moosalamoo for its annual races, which feature medals for the top three men and women in each category. The races feature mostly single track, no pavement, and will take you up Mount Moosalamoo, where Black Bears are often spotted along the course. In addition to medals, the races offer a variety of prizes, including a dog toy for the winner.

Chariots of Fur
The 4th Annual Chariots of Fur Beach Run and Festival is a family-friendly event for all the family, and dogs are allowed! You can participate in a 5K, a one-mile fun run, or even dog yoga. The event begins at 8:30 a.m., and there will be free food and music for all. You can even buy raffle tickets for prizes at the Chariots of Fur festival.

The 5K beach race encourages fast finishes with the ocean in the background. Runners can enjoy sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean from the course. In addition to the dog races, there's also a festival featuring dog-centric booths. And of course, there's the Chariots of Fur dog bowl! Once your dog finishes the 5K, be sure to reward them with a medal!

Fluffy, the Fast and the Furry
In addition to the medals that the dogs receive at the end of the race, Fluffy, the Fast and the Furry offers other prizes such as a medal for top dog in the 8K distance and a raffle for a prize for the fastest furry five-kilometer finisher. This event was created by health psychologist and runner Bethany D. Merillat. The database includes information on over 800 dog races around the world.

Color Me Mutt 5K & 1 Mile Color Walk/Run
The Radio Systems Corporation Color Me Mutt 5K & 1mile Color Walk/Run with medals is a pet-friendly event with a unique twist. The event includes a pet parade and a 5K Color Run race. You can participate as a walker or a runner, and there are age-group awards for each race. All proceeds from this event go to support the Wilderwood Service Dogs and the PARC Foundation.

The 5K and 1-mile color runs are a great way to raise money for a good cause and support your local dog's health and happiness. Participants will receive a t-shirt, a commemorative pet bandanna, and one color packet. The 1-mile run includes multiple water stations. All participants will also receive a race swag bag and free tickets to the NASCAR SpeedPark. After the run, the 5K award ceremony will take place with medals for male and female winners in each age category.

Deception Pass 50K
There are many races for dogs, but few can compare to the prestigious Deception Pass 50K. This event is a 50-mile trail run in Oak Harbor, Washington, and dogs are eligible for medals and other prizes for participating. This race is a great choice for the entire family, and the dogs will love the experience. In addition to the medals and prizes, the race also includes post-race food and brews.

The course is 31 miles long and the dogs are welcome to run or walk alongside you. The course twists around natural water features and includes plenty of technical terrain. A bonus: the finish line is at a beach. This allows you and your dog to finish the race with the view of the sea. The race is also a good opportunity to photograph the race with your dog. The finish line is at the beach, and the race is held in early December.
