With its deep taste of tranquility, it is by far the most beautiful trek in the Garwal Himalayas. The entire trail has more than 2,000-year-old settlements. These villages have become a major draw for people looking to travel and experience the local people's lifestyle. About why? Because it's easy, decent, with no mobile network available between the Garwal Himalayas.
From Dehradun, the trek begins. You can take a direct train to Dehradun station, or you can visit Delhi. Delhi to Dehradun is a trip of up to 6 hours with a total distance of 253.7 km via the Saharanpur Route.

Time, Distance: 6-7 hours , 20kms
The road is elevated from Sankri to Taluka, from where the trek starts. The trail from Gangaad to Osla takes an immediate elevation.
Sources of water: Fill the bottles at Sankri. There are many tea points and waterfalls on the way to Gangaad from Taluka, and even river streams that are reliable sources of water.
The trail takes you to the ancient villages of the Uttarkashi District on the second day. In the center of the Himalayan jungle, the trail starts. You will walk all the way through the long barks of the pines, witness the ferns of the mountain walls, and the numerous flowers blooming along the road. As you walk, you might see some rare flowers and plants that are only available in this area. Be an observer. While you trek, you'll meet locals. Speak about them. Be good and polite.
