The Beaufort Street section may be roaring back to life in recent times, but while it’s gone through some ups and downs a little further north Inglewood has been up and about for a while. Buzzing with great cafes and restaurants, there’s some cool and quirky shopping to be done, and heaps more.
EAT & DRINK
Local & Aesthetic
Alright so this is technically in Mount Lawley, but we feel like it’s right on the border enough that we can include it here (plus founders Dom and Liam live in Inglewood, so it’ll do). Local & Aesthetic is a new mixed cafe x retail space that puts a big emphasis on local suppliers, local ingredients and basically local legends in general. Right now they’ve got a killer art gallery, Rhubarb Records slinging records and even Fort Remedial Massage & Pilates. But honestly just go there for a coffee and some eats, they’ll make you a polony and sauce sanga that’ll even make ya mum blush (along with heaps of other awesome “bush-food” style offerings).
After expanding out of their Northbridge test kitchen in 2019 to Inglewood, things have only gone from strength to strength for the Hoodburger crew. Not that we really need to convince you, but they’ve scored top spots on both of our best burgers and best fried chicken burgers list in recent times.
Kasama’s Thai Kitchen
Night Market favourites Kasama’s Thai Kitchen were so good they had to take up a new permanent location on Beaufort Street and have been thriving ever since now that you’re able to satisfy those green curry cravings without waiting all week for Mondays to roll around.
Chakra is the self-proclaimed “best Indian restaurant in Perth”, and to be straight up with you their probably not far off the mark! While the service is always excellent and super-friendly, the food really does shine with the excellent vegan, vegetarian and gluten free offerings an added bonus. You pay a little more than some Indian places, but trust us when we say it’s money well spent.
