Here are two fun facts you may not have known about our beloved Swan Valley – it’s not only WA’s oldest wine region, it’s also the second oldest in the country.
While both facts are pretty cool, the region has just added an exciting new string to its bow – it now boasts a unique distillery trail, the only one of its kind in Australia.
The Swan Valley has of course been beloved by wine, cider and beer drinkers for decades, but it’s also home to an array of supremely dedicated distillers, handcrafting a delicious range of spirits including gin, vodka, brandy, limoncello and rum – yum!
So, who are you going to meet?
Old Young’s Distillery
Home to the internationally acclaimed Six Seasons Gin, 1829 Gin and Pavlova Vodka, Old Young’s is all about locally-sourced produce and an extensive range of Australian botanicals.
In fact, every one of their vodkas and gins have picked up an international award in just a few short years, and the crew at Old Young’s will be more than happy to tell you how over a couple of sips.
Harris Organic Wine & Spirits
Head to Harris to taste the only certified organic London dry style gin in WA, made from organic grapes planted, pruned, picked and fermented in the Valley.
Harris is also home to some beautiful brandies, vodkas and even a naughty little moonshine, bottled direct from the still.
Swan Valley Gin Company
This boutique distillery is located within the grounds of popular Swan Valley Spanish wine spot Pandemonium Estate, where you can salsa through the Spanish-inspired gin Bar, the Gintoneria, and dive into the Diablo gin range.
You can also dabble in some of their specialty limoncello, made in small amounts with Swan Valley lemons and blanco limes for a grappa-style spirit.
