Drawing a Mom

Step 1:

In this first step of our guide to drawing a mummy, we'll start with the mummy's head. This guide you are about to make will show you how to draw a mommy, but once you get the hang of it, you can edit the details to look like your own mommy! For now, we're going to outline mom's hair and face. We will draw her a reasonably simple hairstyle, which will be drawn in several curly sections that curl a little at the bottom.

Then you can use a rounded line for the face contour inside the hairstyle. Finally, for this step, you can use a few simple curved lines for mom's neck and shoulders. That's all there is to this step, and now you're ready to add more in the following steps!

Step 2:

For this second part of your mom's drawing, we'll draw the top she's wearing. First, you can use curved lines for her collar below her neck. Then you can use more rows for his shoulders, and a strap will go over his shoulder. Whether her purse will be attached, you're ready to move on once you're happy with how it looks.

Step 3:

We'll be drawing a lot in this step of our how-to-draw-a-mommy guide, so take it easy and follow the reference image carefully! First, you can add his left sleeve arm. He will be tilted to be bent at the elbow with his hand extended upwards. Then you can add her purse to the bottom of the strap you drew in the previous step. Finally, you can outline the head of the child she is holding with hair on it. You can also remove the child's arm at this step and draw the beginning of his shirt.

Step 4:

Your mom's drawing is starting to take shape! In this step, we will remove some facial details for the mom and child. Using a few simple lines, you can add mom's mouth, eyes, and nose to give her a smiley, friendly face! You can also do similar details for the child to make his face, and we'll add more elements in the next step.

Step 5:

It's almost time to start coloring your fantastic picture, but we have some final details and things to add. Before we add those details, we have a few more important parts to add, so we'll focus on them first in this step of our guide on how to draw a mom. You will need to finish the mom's lower body and add the child's legs and shoes. Once these are added, you are ready for the final details!

These will run throughout the design, adding textural detail to hair, clothing, and accessories for mother and child. You can even count some subtle points to the looks. Before proceeding, be sure to add any additional information you want! You can add text to make it a cute card or change the details to look like your mom. What additional fun details can you think of to finish off this image?

Step 6:

In this sixth and final step of drawing your mom, we'll bring her to life with unique colors! In our reference image, we showed you only one way to bring this image to life with your colors, but that's just a suggestion. It is your drawing, so you should use your favorite colors to bring it to life. You can also experiment with your favorite art tools and mediums, so let your imagination run wild and deliver fun while you finish this mom drawing.

Make your mom draw even better.

Create some motherly love by making your mother's sketch even better! This drawing of a mom we created features a cartoon character version of a standard mom. You can make this artwork more personalized by giving the mommy a natural look! For example, you can change the details of her face and hair to make her look more like your mother. You can also use the face of someone else you know. Who would you like this mother to examine? In the same way that you could make this mom look like a physical person, you could do the same with the child.

Also, you could look at your own life and employ someone you understand. For a fun idea, look at pictures of what you looked like at that age and add yourself to the image! He could also make the child look older and have him stand next to him. Adding other characters to your mother's drawing could also be fun. For example, you can add a father character standing next to her. It is another character that could be based on someone else, or you could create an entirely new character. You don't have to stop there either!

You can add more characters to have a complete family, making it look like a family photo. Who would you like to include in this family photo? Finally, you could finish your mother's sketch with a background. You could use so many fun experiments to make the picture even better. He could be posing in a garden, or maybe he could be at a party or a carnival. The background can be as complex or simple as you want, and you can create exciting scenes. You can use certain areas around your home to have something to work on while you draw.
