Earlier this week Michael Beale was unveiled as the new manager of Rangers, replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Beale, who is no stranger to the Ibrox dressing room, was pictured in the press conference at Ibrox with Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson. He signed a contract that will see him manage the club until 2026.
He was previously assistant to Steven Gerrard at Rangers. The pair worked together during Gerrard's time at the club and helped him to win the first Scottish Premiership title in nine years. In fact, Beale is still involved in the Rangers set-up today. He spoke about his team and his ideas for the team.
Beale will be in charge of a side that has struggled so far this season. In fact, they have a mixed start to the Premiership season. They beat St. Mirren 4-0 on Sunday, but have lost to Celtic and Liverpool. They are nine points behind Celtic in the league race. They will need to improve on that figure in the second half of the season.

There is a huge amount of work to do at Ibrox if they are going to rebuild the team. There are a number of key players who are out of contract in the summer, including Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos. If Beale wants to strengthen the squad, he will need the backing of the board.
Beale is aware of his long-term objectives and is keen to chase Celtic down once the World Cup break comes around. Having said that, he also wants to give his team identity. He has already had three training sessions with the squad and says that he is still assessing the players. He is also aware that he must up his game in the transfer market. He has said that he will try to secure players who are not currently in the Rangers squad.
Earlier in the summer, Beale had been approached by Premier League club Wolves, but decided to take the job at Queens Park Rangers instead. He was a part of the backroom team that helped Gerrard to success at the club and he is a firm supporter of Steven Gerrard. He apologised to the fans for leaving QPR, but said he was committed to the club's future.
Beale's first game in charge of Rangers will be on December 15. He will be in charge of a team that has struggled to start the season. Beale has little more than three weeks to prepare for his first game. He will then have an extensive break before taking charge of the side again in January. He has told the club that his top priority is to give them a sense of identity and is keen to chase Celtic down in the second half of the season.
The next few weeks will be crucial for Beale and the team. They have a lot of work to do if they are going to be competitive in the league. They have to improve their form and they will need to strengthen their ranks. He is also aware that there is not much money available to rebuild Ibrox.
