I know they are two words we don’t associate with visiting the Maldives = Maldives & Budget. Especially when you see images of super rich celebrities living the high life like Victoria and David Beckham holidaying with other super rich celebrities like Gordon Ramsey.

But you can and we are here to show you how.

After the government allowed tourists to stay among the local population rather than just privately owned resort islands, many small accommodation businesses started to pop up.

With a gorgeous destination like the Maldives not everyone is looking for 5 star luxuries as you have so much more to enjoy on this type of trip.

Many people don’t realise that the Maldives is a Muslim country, with so much culture to enjoy. You may not be able to strip off at the local beach but many guest houses offer their own private beach area, where you can enjoy plenty of sun time on the white sandy beaches.

Did you know there are 1,200 islands in the Maldives?!

No wonder it is difficult to decide where to stay.

Most tourists will arrive to Male International Airport and the best way to get from the main island to your destination is to organise a transfer. Depending on your budget, many islands offer a public boat as transport which is the cheapest way however can take many hours. Saying this if you have good sea legs and are not in a hurry, it’s a cost effective way to get to your chosen destination – and let’s face it no one is in a hurry on these islands. Another option is to take a speed boat which usually costs around $50 per person each way; this reduces the transfer time quite significantly. And for those who want to really splash out a charters flight can also be arranged.

The New Home Inspections service is a must-have for anyone purchasing a new home. The inspector provided a thorough inspection, and the report gave me the information I needed to negotiate with the seller.
