Sweet or savoury, we’re all about pancakes, as long as they’re stacked sky high. Here’s eight of our favourite pancake purveyors in Perth.
Mary Street Bakery
Feeling worse for wear and bleary-eyed on a Sunday morning? It’s gotta be MSB fried chicken pancakes. This decadent plate of buttermilk pancakes, topped with fried chicken, peanuts, maple, chilli and a fried egg will cure what ails you. If you’re more inclined to the sweet side of life, their City Beach outpost is serving up ricotta hotcakes with mandarine anglaise, chocolate crumb and maple.
Nic and Kolo
Once you’ve seen Nic and Kolo’s cinny scroll pancakes, you won’t be able to look away. These showstoppers are topped with a cheesecake glaze, and will fill the void in your life you didn’t even know you had.
The Little Banksia
Tucked away down a suburban street in Kensington, The Little Banksia is a delightful hidden gem. Any sweet teeth out there will surely be enticed by the buttermilk pancakes, paired with caramelised banana, blueberry gel, hazelnut chocolate, vanilla mascarpone, candied walnuts, sesame brittle and salted caramel. Savoury-lovers will have to try the kale and corn hotcakes, which go down a treat with smoked salmon, grilled haloumi, a poached egg and some citrus and dill sour cream.
Brother Of Mine
This Baldivis coffee brewer is pumping out some pretty epic brunches, and their pancakes are no exception. Choc chip pancakes with honeycomb, caramel popcorn, ice cream and pistachio fairy floss? Sign us up, stat. And if it’s been *that* kind of morning, you can even get your hands on an espresso martini, BBQ bloody mary or a breakfast sour with your pancakes. Savoury-tooths can get on board with the blue swimmer crab and hot smoked salmon fish cakes, topped with hollandaise, fennel salad, rocket and fried capers.
