Gabapin 300mg Capsules is a seizure medication. Gabapin 300 Capsules can be used to treat epilepsy on a regular basis. It works to prevent seizures and other brain disorders. It can also be used to alleviate nerve discomfort. It works by preventing pain signals from reaching the brain's damaged nerves.
What's the best way to take this medication?
Gabapentin pills, tablets, and oral solution are generally given three times a day, with or without meals, in a full glass of water (8 ounces [240 millilitres]).
These drugs should be taken at regular intervals during the day and night, with no more than 12 hours between doses. The extended-release pill (Horizant) is taken once a day, at 5 p.m., with meals. Take gabapentin as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less of it, or take it more frequently than your doctor has advised.
Gabapentin pills are not interchangeable with any other gabapentin product. Ensure that you only obtain the sort of gabapentin that your doctor has recommended. If you have any queries regarding the sort of gabapentin you were given, go to your pharmacist.
Do not cut, chew, or crush the extended-release pills; they must be swallowed whole.
If your doctor has prescribed half of a normal tablet as part of your treatment, carefully divide the tablet along the score mark. Use the remaining half-tablet in your next dosage. Dispose of any half-tablets you haven't used within a few days of breaking them properly.
If you're using gabapentin to treat seizures or PHN, your doctor would most likely start you on a low dose and progressively raise it as necessary to address your condition. If you're using gabapentin for PHN, let your doctor know if your symptoms don't improve after a few weeks.
Gabapin 300 mg (Gabapentin) can help you manage your illness, but it won't make it go away. Even if you feel OK, keep taking gabapentin. Even if you suffer adverse effects such as unexpected changes in behaviour or mood, do not discontinue taking gabapentin without consulting your doctor. You may suffer withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, trouble falling or staying asleep, nausea, discomfort, and sweating if you suddenly stop using gabapentin pills, capsules, or oral solution. If you are using gabapentin to treat seizures and then stop taking it suddenly, you may suffer additional seizures. Your doctor may reduce your dose over the course of at least after a week.
When you start gabapentin therapy and every time you renew your prescription, your doctor or pharmacist will give you the manufacturer's patient information leaflet (Medication Guide).
Other use for this drug:
Gabapentin is also used to treat and prevent hot flashes (sudden intense feelings of heat and perspiration) in women who are being treated for breast cancer or have gone through menopause (the end of monthly menstrual cycles).
Should I follow any special dietary guidelines?
Continue to eat normally unless your doctor advises you to do so.
What if I forget to take dose of gabapin 300?
Take the missing dosage as soon as you recall if you forget to take gabapentin capsules, pills, or oral solution. If the next dosage is approaching or you forget to take gabapentin extended-release tablets, omit the missed dose and resume your usual dosing plan. Do not take a double dose.
