Sarah Pickens in the soccer club
She is six feet from the soccer goal and she started wearing her mother's sunglasses on Saturday at the Furniture City Classic. Pickens, a player for the Greenboro Twitter under-19 girls team, grinned at her growing mother before turning her attention back to the turf on the west end pitch in High Point.
The green snow-day senior was standing up on the grass only fifteen minutes before. However, as she was celebrating her first goal of the competition, she was accidentally kicked in the right shin, ending her day's play. Sunny Pickens, whose daughter was severely injured as a result of the goal, said that injuries are something you look for rather than something you look forward to.
