The Island of Mararison is one of the best travel destinations in Western Visayas. It is situated in the Town of Culasi in Antique. You can enjoy the island in two ways: 1) beach bum and 2) trek. When you visit the island, you will be welcomed by a kilometer stretch of the sandbar. The clear blue sea can give you a scenic view that can make you feel at peace.



Overnight stay in Mararison Island is a must! If you want to experience quiet phase with the calming sound of the waves and natural light coming from the clear sky at night, then this is the place for you! Early in the morning, you can enjoy a two-hour hike that lets you capture amazing natural creations in the mountains.

 
HOW TO GET THERE

From Iloilo, take the bus from Molo Terminal going to Culasi. Travel time is approximately 3 hours. From Culasi Port, rent a boat going to Mararison Island. It would be cheaper if you are in a group. When you arrive at the island, pay the environmental fee (P30). You can bring tents and food that can be cooked by the locals. There are also houses that can be rented for a very minimal price. Tour guide for trekking usually cost P250.
