Whether it’s been a long week at work or you’re holding that weekend hangover at bay, Perth’s filled with plenty of cafes to keep you fuelled up. Here are our picks for Perth’s best coffee, in alphabetical order:
Artem
After spending a few years as a pop-up coffee spot, Artem’s moved into a permanent brick-and-mortar location in Mount Pleasant, with a takeaway window in Highgate’s new Woolworths. When a cafe is smoking their own meats, fermenting their own chilli sauce, and having their coffee beans roasted to their own recipe… you know they’re not kidding about quality. Stop in any time for their aforementioned A-grade coffee, or their small-yet-inspired brunch menu (think duck omelette, crab roll, chicken rendang salad), but those who are in the know will make sure to be there on the weekend for their signature Reuben toastie, leaving room for one of their donuts, of course.
Best Wishes
Killer coffee? Holy Bagel Co bagels? Best Wishes keeps things simple, but boy does it pay off. Since opening their doors in 2017, this crew has built up a reputation as the best place in Freo to pick up your daily coffee – and in spite of their super-cool branding and merch, you’ll find no pretension here. Genuine smiles, and genuinely good coffee. What’s not to love?
Blacklist Coffee Roasters
It would be inaccurate to call Blacklist Coffee Roasters’ Subiaco location a café – although it’s certainly where you’ll get a bang-up brew. Their Subiaco concept store complements their existing Welshpool roastery (they also have a Canggu café and restaurant under their belt), offering a unique dine-in coffee tasting menu in addition to their regular takeaway coffee options. For $12 per person, you’re treated to a variety of Blacklist coffee blends and single origins, or become a member for unlimited coffees
