Excuses, excuses, excuses. Those little things you use when you really don't want to do something. But, what if you did want to do it? Surely I'm not the only one who really wanted to do something but just couldn't find the time, or had to finish up some work that you never ended up finishing when in reality I just couldn't be bothered to do the hard work? I don't think so. Whatever your goal may be, you want to go to the gym for example to get fit but just didn't want to get up and go to the gym. I know this feeling. And I just want to say that everyone has this feeling. The feeling that all of the hard work isn't even going to pay off anyway so why even try?
Why even try?
I'll tell you why try. Try because it's your goal. Something that YOU are passionate about and I bet every single person has a different goal than that of the person sat next to them or the people around them. Traveling. You'd really like to hop on a plane to Bora Bora right now but saving... what if you don't save enough? Well, wouldn't you want to at least try? Because if it were me, I know I'd rather try to save and not have enough because it would encourage me. Encourage me to keep saving. Remember my blog about being encouraged by my faliures? That's one example! Next year, I really wanna study abroad in Spain and saving for over a year is extremely tough for a 15 year old and I'm really worried I won't do it. And trust me, when I see new shoes it's very hard not to get them! But, if I did get them... what would my excuse be? That I perhaps needed them so bad because I've not got a pair that colour and now I'm short of the funds I need to study abroad? I'm not sure because this is all completely hypothetical. But the point of this whole blog is that yes, sometimes there are reasons and hiccups that get in the way of achieving what we want - but other times, the biggest obstacle stopping you from achieving is yourself.
Remember before when I said think of what your goal is no matter how big or small? Well now I challenge everyone reading to go for it. Not to say 'well, I'm tired so I'll do it tomorrow' start your success story today. And who knows? Your dreams might just come true. We miss 100% off the opportunities we don't take (proven fact!) so please, get out there and build the life you've always dreamed of. Whether that be travel, exercise or merely to be able to cook a new recipe. Your goals matter. So, what are you waiting for?!
